Community of Practice
Ecotherapy and Nature-Wellbeing

Let's create a local community of people practising ecotherapy, and other forms of nature-wellbeing.

As more people turn towards nature to find wellbeing and therapy, we want to begin a regular space to come together for practitioners in our local area. We think that together we can benefit from sharing our practices, our stories and experiences. We can create a supportive place where all beings can flourish.

Times are tough. New wars are raging. The human made systems in these lands are under extreme pressure, and many people are feeling stretched, stressed and overwhelmed. We have our own experience of this, and know that now is the time to turn towards each other, and recognise that we can support each other in our practice. Community and belonging are at the heart of well-functioning humans, and we need spaces where we can openly share and grow.

Our idea is to start off this community of practice  at Young Wood, host several seasonal events through 2026 and lead them to create a solid sense of safety, sharing and practice. We think that grounded well,  this can help us develop our practice, understand more about those we work with, chew over knotty issues and celebrate our successes together.

This is open to those who are trained in therapy, nature wellbeing, or ecotherapy, or have developed their own way of taking or working with people outdoors for wellbeing, perhaps with a farming, forest school, bushcraft or conservation background. It is not a training course (our training course may open again in 2027). If you're not sure if this is for you, contact Jenny Archard.

 What will we do?

For these first two sessions we will create a structure and bring practices that we can share from what we do in Neroche Woodlanders. These will be seasonal and will emerge as we gather and listen into the seasons. If these work, then we can plan more for later in the year and onwards.

  • Create a safe container together - use a circle practice to listen and speak.
  • Share practice and experience - bring models and theories, our ways of working and the activities we love.
  • Bring our challenges and celebrations, from all the domains of our work.
  • Listen in to our more-than-human kin, the land and season, and make a ceremony to honour life as we gather.
  • Build relationships with each other and wider web of life.

They will be lead by Jenny Archard and supported by Tiff Lovedale or Sarah Holdway. We will provide hot drinks. Do bring a snack or something to share for afternoon tea!

Jenny is trained as a group facilitator, nature-wellbeing guide, has 10+ years of experience with Way of Council and other group processes, and holds the level 3 counselling skills award.
